Hey guys...here's my attempt to write a Jeremy fanfiction. It's gonna be a horror story like RL Stine's "Fear Street" books. If I'm lucky I might be able to write a second chapter.
JILTED
"Are you nervous, Denise?" asked Katie, her maid of honor. She was busy helping her best friend fasten the head piece of the veil into her long blonde hair.
"Nope," Denise said, as she smiled at her reflection in the vanity mirror. "I can't wait to get married."
"What you can't wait for is the wedding night," teased Janet, another of her many bridesmaids.
"Yeah, that too," Denise said softly. Her heart pounded in anticipation as images of silk sheets and Jeremy filled her mind in a hot rush. She couldn't believe in just a matter of minutes she would be his wife.
Her cellphone rang then. The satin of her dress swished as she crossed the room to answer it. Almost instantly the pleasant expression on her beautiful face began to dissolve as she listened to the person on the other end of the line. Stunned, it was a full minute before she could even speak.
"You can't be serious. You can't do this to me, Jeremy! This is our wedding day! My wedding day!"
The young bridesmaids all halted their primping session and put down their curling irons and lipstick tubes. They turned and watched what seemed to be a train wreck unfolding in front of them.
Denise began screaming then. Loud enough that it was a certainty that everyone in the church could hear. "You can't do this! You can't! What about our plans? Our house?" Her eyes narrowed as she listened to the response. "I'll never forgive you for this you f*cking b*stard! Never!" she hissed.
And with that, she hurled the cellphone against the wall. Its plastic cover shattered.
Everything just shattered....
Denise cried out as a stabbing pain sliced through her head. Sobbing, she sank to the floor, her dress spreading around her like white billowy clouds. Her friends gathered around her quickly, doing their best to comfort her.
"What did Jeremy say, Denise?" Katie asked gently, putting an arm around her shoulders.
But Denise couldn't answer. The pain in her head wouldn't let her. It was bringing with it all these old memories. Memories of the day she first met Jeremy. Before he betrayed her and destroyed her heart. It was six months ago, on a warm April day.......
Denise wheeled her bicycle out of the garage for some much needed exercise. Turning it in the direction opposite her neighborhood, she pedaled off. She only knew a few of the families in this part of town. It was a pretty well-to-do neighborhood with nice homes and well kept lawns. Most every car in the driveway was a current model. She had been admiring one of those cars and wishing she had one like it when a large golden retriever darted out in front of her. Startled, she cut the wheel sharply to the right, narrowly missing the dog but causing herself to crash in the process. She sat on the pavement stunned and in pain. Grimacing, she lifted the bike off her foot. She tried to wiggle it but it hurt too bad. Her ankle was obviously sprained. Denise wondered how she would get back home. She was about four miles from her house and was in no condition to walk or ride back.
An angel appeared then to rescue her. A tall figure that glowed because of the sunlight at his back. But when he knelt down beside her....he had no wings. He wasn't an angel after all but a boy. The same dog that had cased her accident was by his side, wagging its tail, unaware that it was the reason for her distress.
"Are you okay?" The boy's voice was soft and kind. His hair was dark blonde and curly but his eyes... His eyes were as beautifully shaped and blue colored as a porcelain doll's. With eyelashes that no boy should be allowed to have.
"I--I think I sprained my ankle when I fell," Denise managed to respond.
"Come on, let me help you up. If you can't stand you can lean on me."
Slowly, Denise stood up and the boy put his arm around her waist. He smelled wonderful. Like he had just taken a shower.
"Can you put any weight on your foot?" he wanted to know.
Denise tried and shook her head. "No, it hurts too bad."
"Okay, I'll help get you home then. I'd drive you but my car is in the shop and my parents aren't home so I can't use theirs. That's my house over there." He gestured to a nice brick home directly across from where they were standing. "This right here is my dog Bear," the boy explained. "I saw him run out in front of you. I know he caused you to fall. He wants you to know that he's really sorry about that. He's a really nice dog." He grinned, showing off a couple front teeth that were adorably crooked.
Denise laughed. It was impossible to stay mad at Bear. In fact, she was grateful because the accident had enabled her to meet this gorgeous boy.
"I'm Jeremy," he introduced himself.
Denise smiled at him and told him her name. Jeremy then helped her onto her bike and after giving him directions to her home, began pushing it for her. She discovered on the journey that his family had just moved into the area a few days ago and were trying to get settled in. Jeremy would be attending the same high school as Denise...a senior just like her. They began dating soon after. They were practically inseparable.
Denise's thoughts quickly sped forward to Halloween night. The night Jeremy proposed to her... They were snuggled up on the couch in her living room watching a horror movie marathon. Jeremy had been quieter than usual and seemed nervous. He had refused to take his jacket off even though it was too hot to wear it inside. A little while later she realized why when he reached into his jacket pocket and handed her a small black velvet box.
"What's this?" Denise asked, taking it from him.
He grinned. "You'll see."
Denise opened the box. Inside was a ring. With a very very small diamond.
Seeing the expression on her face, Jeremy rushed to explain. "I know it's small but it's all I could afford right now. My parents offered to give me the money but I wanted to buy it myself. It wiped out my whole savings but it was worth it," he said proudly.
Denise was floored. Why was Jeremy giving her an expensive present like this? It wasn't her birthday and Christmas was two months away.
"Jeremy, it's beautiful but I don't understand--"
Jeremy took the ring from the box and slipped it on her finger. It was a perfect fit. He smiled in relief. "Great! I had to guess at the size."
"Jeremy, what's going on!" Denise was beginning to feel butterflies in her stomach. She could sense something momentous was about to happen to her.
"Denise, will you marry me?" he finally blurted out.
She stared at him in shock. "What did you say?" she whispered.
"I want us to get married. We're both eighteen now...our parents can't stop us. We can be together forever."
"Forever," Denise repeated as if in a trance.
And as Jason claimed his next victim at Camp Crystal Lake...Denise gave Jeremy her answer in a kiss. Terrified screams erupted from the tv......
"Denise? Denise? Please, say something," Katie begged. "Samantha, go get her mom. I think she needs a doctor too."
Slowly, Denise lifted her bowed head. "Jeremy called off the wedding," she said in a flat emotionless voice. "He said this whole idea was a mistake. That we were too young...."
At that, all of her friends began to express their sorrow for her ruined wedding day. "Denise honey, I'm so sorry, " Katie said, giving her a hug.
"I'm not." But he's gonna be. She lifted her veil from her face and smiled a strange smile that puzzled her friends.
