*LOL* HILARIOUS!!! Thanks caligirl.
Okay, here's the third and last chapter of the night. This is all I've got written so...it might be awhile before I post anything else.
JILTED 2:SPIDEY'S REVENGE
CHAPTER 7
"Now are you sure you'll be okay?" Mrs. Garrett asked, as she pulled up to the entrance of the mall. "I can come with you if you want."
"No thanks, Mom. If I'm old enough to vote, I should be able to go shopping by myself." Julia's nerves were slightly on edge. Sleeping all night on the floor and seeing blood everytime she opened her eyes, would do that to a person.
"You know the only reason I offered is because I'm worried about you. This is your first time in a public place since you've been home. How are you going to handle it if someone makes a comment?"
"I can't stay in the house forever just because some d*ckhead might say, 'There's that murdering b*tch Julia Garrett!'"
"Julia, please." Mrs. Garrett rubbed her temples as if a headache was coming on.
"Sorry. You know me. I say what I feel. I've got my cell with me. I'll call if anything goes wrong, okay?" She leaned over and gave her mother a kiss. "Tell Dad I'll be ready for that driving lesson when I get home."
Since Julia had been in the institution the last four years she had missed out on being taught how to drive. It was critical that she learn how to drive as soon as possible. She couldn't deal with having to depend on her mother for transportation for very much longer.
"Alright, I'll tell him."
"See ya!" Julia slammed the car door and entered the mall.
Julia was worried but not about what someone would say to her. What if she had another flashback? She had no idea when the next one would strike. How would she deal with the uncontrollable tears and the shaking? How would she explain her actions if someone saw? She had no idea. She just prayed that it wouldn't happen to her today. Right now she wanted to focus on her new-found freedom.
As she walked, she kept her head down and let her long brown hair hide her face. She figured on just not making eye contact with people until she had her makeover. Then after that, no one would recognize her as Julia "Spidey" Garrett anymore.
The first step in the process was the eyewear clinic. There she had herself fitted with non-prescription contact lenses.
Blue ones.
Wearing them would take some getting used to but when she looked in the mirror she was satisfied with the results. She had Denise's eyes. She now had to get her hair.
At the salon, Julia showed the stylist a magazine pic of a model with hair color similar to Denise's. Julia didn't want to show an actual pic of her sister. No need to draw attention to who she was related. Luckily, the stylist made no mention of seeing Julia on the news the previous day.
An hour and a half later, Julia's hair was cut and colored. The stylist spun her around in the chair and she faced the mirror for the first time.
"What do you think, sweetie?" she asked, taking a moment to puff on her cigarette.
Julia was speechless. Her hair was now platinum blonde and with the blue contacts she could have actually been Denise herself.
"I love it," she whispered.
Julia felt absolutely giddy. Like she could take over the whole world. The only thing ruining it was the knowledge that Jeremy's twin brother was out there somewhere. A constant reminder of her past. And Denise's.
As the day progressed, Julia bought as many items as she could carry. Anything she saw that she wanted, she just brandished her dad's credit card. He wanted to make things up to her so why deny him the pleasure? she rationalized.
Up ahead the indoor movie theater marquee was lit up. Julia happened to glance up to see what was playing and stopped in her tracks. The marquee read in bold black letters; "The Shirtless Killer".
Julia nearly squealed. "The Shirtless Killer" was a brand new slasher film reminiscent of the classic ones from the 80's. She had been wanting to see this since she had seen the first commercial for it weeks ago!
She looked at her watch. The movie started in fifteen minutes. She had just enough time to buy something to eat and get settled. Juggling a coke, a box of popcorn, and her endless shopping bags, she went on into the theater. The place was filling up fast. Julia got a seat in the back for the most perfect view. What an awesome way to end this day, she thought.
At that very same moment, a young man wearing a hoodie and sunglasses stopped to buy a ticket to "The Shirtless Killer" also. He slid the hood back from his dark blonde curls and removed the sunglasses, treating the female ticket taker to eyes so beautiful and blue it was staggering. He flashed her a heart melting smile and she sighed dreamily as she watched him walk away. The guy looked as good going as he did coming....
Julia sipped her coke and ate some popcorn as the movie began. The concept of "The Shirtless Killer" was a senior in high school who was gorgeous but also very arrogant. He expected every girl to fall in love with him and when they didn't, he systematically began killing them all off. And he always did it shirtless because he wanted their last memories to be of his awesome body.
Thirty minutes into the movie Julia's troubles began.
The heartthrob was taking off his shirt, so the audience knew he was getting ready to murder someone. Julia was totally on the edge of her seat with excitement.
Take it off baby! Take it off! she silently urged him.
All of a sudden, the person sitting behind her gave her seat a sharp kick, causing her to spill her drink all over her shirt and on some of her newly platinum hair.
"Sh*t!" she exclaimed. She turned around to see who it was but the theater was too dark to see their identity. "Thanks a lot!" she hissed.
She turned back around to watch the movie. Five minutes passed in relative peace before the kicking started again. She tried to ignore it but the kicker was relentless in his irritation. Each kick got harder and harder.
It was actually starting to hurt.
How was she expected to focus on the shirtless killer's chest when some f*cker was determined to kick the hell out of her seat?
She had no choice but to move. She stood up, making a scene as she lugged her shopping bags and accidentally stepped on people's feet. Luckily, she was able to quickly find an open aisle seat. Julia had barely settled down for a couple minutes before the kicking started up again. The b*stard had followed her! What the hell? She could take the abuse no more.
Julia stood up. "Quit kicking my seat, you stupid a**hole!" she yelled.
A little kid spoke up. "Mommy, what's an a**hole?"
The whole theater howled with laughter at the innocent remark. Disgusted and embarrassed by the whole affair, Julia picked up her bags and left. Her whole movie experience was ruined.
The young man who had been sitting behind her laughed and stood up also. He followed her out of the theater.
What a moron, Julia thought, striding down the mall and heading for the exit. Thanks to that asshole, I'll have to pay to see the movie again. And it was just getting good too!
Just then, two of Julia's shopping bags slipped free from her grip and dropped to the tiled floor. A couple skateboards that she had bought rolled out and away from her.
"Oh sh*t! What now?" she moaned, bending down.
"Here, let me help you," offered a male voice.
"Thanks," Julia murmured without looking up. There was something vaguely familiar about his voice but so intent she was on gathering her items that she didn't dwell on it.
The guy dangled one of the lacy bras she had bought that day teasingly in front of her face. Embarrassed, Julia was about to yank it out of his hand for being so bold when she looked up and saw who it was.
Jeremy.
No....Jaymi.
He smiled at her but it wasn't a friendly one. "Well, we meet again Spidey. Or is it Julia now?"
