Thank you so much, Arwen07. This chapter I'm posting now is kinda long, so it's kinda like 2 chapters at once.
Thank you so much, ChicagoChick!! *LOL* Yeah, if a basketball rolled in my room, it would freak me out too.
AWWW, than you so much Caligirl!!
That was really sweet. Sometimes I wonder if my imagination is about to run out on this story though...
Well, here's chapter 13 guys. Hope it was worth the wait.
JILTED 2:SPIDEY'S REVENGE
CHAPTER 13
Julia was seconds away from telling Jaymi to go to hell but before she had a chance...he hung up. In turn, she slammed the phone down. The nerve of the guy! If he thought she would just come running because he said so...
But there was definitely a challenge in his voice. And that was one thing Julia could never turn away from...a challenge. If she didn't show up, he would think she was a coward. And she couldn't have that. She would show him!
Julia grabbed her backpack and began to throw some clothes in it, even though she had no idea what to bring. She then went into the bathroom and collected her toothbrush and makeup. As she passed her parent's room all was quiet. The tv that her mom usually watched before falling asleep was silent.
Julia crept downstairs and went into the kitchen. She scribbled a quick note on the pad on the table.
Mom,
Don't worry. Me and a friend are going on a quick trip. Will be back tomorrow... hopefully.
Julia
She slipped out the front door and went down the walk. Feeling nervous and stupid, she stood in the shadows underneath the huge pine tree by the edge of the road. This was the craziest scheme she had ever been a part of. But at least this time it was a scheme that didn't involve murder...at least not yet. She smiled.
A car was coming down the road. Its headlights swept over her. Was it Jaymi? Yeah, it was the f*cker. The car slowed down and came to a stop. Julia reluctantly stepped forward and got in.
"I knew you would be waiting," Jaymi said arrogantly, as he pulled away from the curb.
"I swear if doing this makes my dad worse I'll--"
"You'll what?" Jaymi interrupted sharply.
"I'll kill you." There she'd said it. Got everything out in the open.
Jaymi laughed. "Don't you think I know that's on your mind? I'm not afraid of you, Julia. For one thing I'm about 7 inches taller and 40 pounds heavier than you."
"So was Jeremy and you know what happened to him."
"You b*tch."
The brakes on the sportscar screeched to a halt. Jaymi reached over and grabbed Julia's backpack from her.
"Hey!"
"Get out of the car," he ordered.
"What?"
"I'm gonna check and see if you've brought any weapons on board."
"I don't have any weapons, Jaymi. I can't even stand to look at a knife anymore. I'm cured, remember?"
"Yeah, right. Like I trust you. Get out and come over to my side."
"Oh sh*t," Julia muttered under her breath. She got out, slammed the door angrily and stalked over to the driver's side.
Jaymi unbuckled his seatbelt and stood up. As he towered over Julia her heart began to beat faster. The next thing she knew his hands ran down the sides of her body.
"What the hell?" she cried as she struggled to get away.
"Just frisking you for weapons," Jaymi replied calmly. "What do you think I'm doing?"
Jaymi's hands lingered just a little too long for Julia's liking. "You b*stard! Let go of me!"
Jaymi grinned and released her. "I hope you won't be saying that later tonight."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Julia asked, feeling a tinge of uneasiness.
Jaymi didn't answer and turned his attention to her backpack. Julia crossed her arms over her chest, seriously annoyed. "I don't have any weapons! How many times do I have to tell you?"
Jaymi zipped the bag back up, apparently satisfied that she was "clean". "Here you go."
Julia jerked the backpack from his grip and got back in the car. "I should have run when I had the chance," she grumbled.
"But you didn't. Face it, Spidey, you like being with me."
"Not true."
"Really? Then why was your heart beating so fast while ago when I was...searching for weapons?" He grinned
"You a**!" Julia exploded. "My heart was beating fast because I didn't know what you were gonna do to me."
"Sure it was."
Totally pissed, Julia refused to speak to Jaymi the rest of the way to Las Vegas. Jaymi on the other hand, was in a talkative mood and refused to shut up. While he jabbered endlessly Julia learned some new and interesting things about him. He was studying the culinary arts at college and made his living being a cook at a family-oriented restaurant in town. The Sumpters had no idea he was in contact with Julia. Jaymi himself rarely talked to them, his hatred was so deep. He said that after they were married he was going to bring her over to meet them as a "surprise". Then he made a lame joke that maybe the shock would give his parents heart attacks.
"Wake up, my little serial killer."
"What?" Julia murmured then slowly opened her eyes.
She had accidentally fallen asleep. It was two hours later...midnight. Jaymi was parked in front of a small church which was painted pink and decorated with red hearts. A tacky neon sign flashed on and off. It read: "Cupid's Chapel for Couples"
Oh God, it was really going to happen. She was marrying Jaymi.
Meanwhile at the Sumpter's old house....
Jeremy's spirit slowly eased from its home.....the bathroom mirror. It floated...
weightless and invisible. The spirit had domain over every room in the house but preferred to stay in the mirror and in its bedroom...Jaymi's bedroom now.
Try as it might, the spirit could not make itself visible. That was only possible in the mirror for some reason. Jaymi had no idea but when he looked in the mirror...the reflection he saw wasn't of himself...but of Jeremy.
Jeremy hated what he had become. What Julia had forced him to become. A spirit. He couldn't sleep. Couldn't eat. Couldn't speak. All his plans were over. He could never be with Barbara. He had hoped that at least in death he could be with her but he couldn't make contact. She had gone on.... While he remained stuck in his house.
Seconds after Julia stabbed him, after he closed his eyes for the last time. He remembered seeing a bright beautiful light. He could hear harps and chimes ringing. It was so nice and peaceful but at the last minute he refused to go further. This wasn't right. He was only 18, he shouldn't be here. It was too early.
"Noooooo!" he had screamed. "I won't go!" He turned back around and instantly was back in his house. But as a spirit. An entity with no body.
Not soon after Jeremy was buried, the Sumpters left the house for a brief stay with some relatives. They needed to get away...to save their sanity. It had become to painful to walk past Jeremy's room and know what had happened in there. While they were gone, Jeremy's spirit had run of the house and as it dwelled on the injustice of its fate the more angry it became. So helpless and angry it felt at its predicament that it went on a rampage. The spirit trashed the house. Broke windows and dishes, turned furniture over, ripped clothes to shreds. Jeremy's bedroom got the worst treatment of them all.
The spirit tried to leave the house. Wanted to go after Julia. But it seemed Jeremy's spiritual self was grounded and had not the power to leave. When the Sumpters returned from their trip they were shocked and astounded to find the front and back doors of their home splintered with chunks of wood missing. When they went inside and saw the destruction they couldn't believe that vandals could have done this to their family at their time of grief. Surprisedly, nothing seemed to be taken.
When the police were called, they were mystified and a little creeped out that the damaged doors were made by someone trying to get out....not in.
But at least the spirit wasn't alone. It had a special friend that keep it company when Jaymi wasn't around. Jeremy's spirit whistled. And it came running.
Bear.
