;D ;D ;D
The next day went by just like every other friday. After Hilary agonized through the last lesson -science-, school was over. She stood in the hallway, holding her books, waiting for Scott who was talking to his football coach. Obviously, they were fighting about something, because both of them looked pretty angry and Scott bit his lips, an unmistakable sign for him being angry. Finally their conversation was over and Scott walked up to Hilary. "I'm sorry that you had to wait honey" Hilary looked at him surprised. "Oh, it's okay..." she answered a little confused. "Anyway, would you mind if I spend the day with Jack and the other guys? We need to talk about the football match next week and stuff like that." "You know I really looked forward to spend the day with you baby", Hilary lied. In fact she was thankful for every minute she was without him. "But if it's that important to you, it's okay with me. I'll find something else to do." She smiled and he looked at her seriously. "Like what?" he asked distrustful. "Oh well, maybe I'll help my mum with the gardening or I watch a movie with Kaley, I'm not sure yet." She lied- again. He nodded. "Okay honey, I-" "Scott, are you coming?" Jack yelled from the other side of the hallway. "Yeah, just a second", he yelled back. "Okay honey, l'll see you tomorrow, okay?" "I can't wait." Another lie. "Bye" he said and kissed her before he headed to Jack's car. "You're a good liar", an amused voice said behind her. Hilary gasped and dropped her books. She turned around and what she saw let her heart beat like crazy. "Jeremy! Are you insane? You scared me half to death", she said out of breath and watched how he bent down and picked up her books. "I'm sorry", he smiled a sweet smile at Hilary and gave her the books. "I'm just really surprised that a girl like you is able to lie about five times in less than 3 minutes." She looked at him. "I didn't lie." He just grinned. "Another one", he said and she blushed. "I didn't lie! Who do you think you are to affirm something like that? You don't even know me!" Hilary said, getting angry and Jeremy tried to look guilty. "You're right, I'm sorry. It's none of my business." "That's right", Hilary said and passed him by to walk to her locker. "Would you like to hang out a little this afternoon or are you too busy with the gardening?" he asked while she put her books away. Hilary closed her locker and looked at him. He stood there, leaning against the wall, smirking at her like a little boy who just said something unbelievably funny. She laughed fakely. "Yeah, very funny." "So?" he asked and she shook her head. "I'm sorry but I really have to go somewhere." She turned around and wanted to walk away as suddenly: "To the cemetery?" He asked and Hilary closed her eyes. Jeremy saw how she held back her tears as she turned around and he knew he said something wrong. "What?" she asked. Her voice was shaking. "Nothing. I'm sorry", Jeremy said quickly. She kept on staring at him for a moment. "Hilary?" "Yes?" "If you ever need someone, you know, to talk or something...you can come to me", Jeremy took a deep breath. The words sounded stupid, even to himself. Hilary cleared her throat. "Thank you Jeremy. But just like I said, you don't even know me." "But I-" She raised her hand and he stopped. "Bye Jeremy", she said and went away. He sighed and wanted to go as he stumbled about something. He looked down and saw a small, pink book on the floor. He picked it up and looked after Hilary but she already was in her car so he put it in his bag and left the hallway.

Awww thank you for reading, it really means a lot to me!!!
An hour later Hilary stood in the pouring rain, in front of the same grave she'd visited every day for the last eight months. She laid down the flowers she'd bought earlier and kneeled down beside them. A sad smile appeared on her face as she ran her fingers over the name on the grave: Jason Reeves Hilary sighed deeply. "I miss you", she whispered. Then, suddenly, she heard a cold laughter behind her. "You seem to forget that it is your fault he's dead." Hilary didn't need to turn around, she knew the voice anyway, but she stood up and faced the person behind her. "Anna." She wasn't able to say anything else. The girl in front of her ran her hands through her brown curls. It looked like she'd wanted to visit the grave, since she was holding a bunch of flowers but now her hazel eyes stared at Hilary in a cold, disgusted way. "He loved you, Hilary. He really did. And I know you loved him, you were just to scared to admit it to him, or even to yourself. You broke his heart." Hilary tried to hold back her tears. "Anna I-" "No. There's nothing you could say. I know that you miss him but that doesn't change anything about the fact that you were the reason for his suicide. It's your fault my brother is dead. You make me sick." She looked at her with eyes full of hate and anger, Hilary just waited for her to say anything else, to tell her more of those things she already knew anyway but instead Anna just turned round and walked off. Hilary stood there crying while the rain soaked her clothes. She htought about what Anna had said and suddenly she just couldn't take it anymore. She practically broke down crying, lying beside the grave, burrowing her fingers into the soft, squishy ground, sobbing desperately... At the same time Jeremy was sitting on his bed, fighting with himself. He stared at the small book in his hand, almost as if he'd want to hypnotize it, considering if he should read it or not. 'It's a notebook' he thought. 'I can't read it, it's probably private' He sighed. "What the hell!" he mumbled and opened the book. He ran over the pages of it and found the usual stuff: songlyrics, poems, sayings He flew the pages over until he suddenly stopped and began to read more careful. "Oh my..." escaped his lips and he kept on staring at the poem he'd just found, reading the lines over and over again.
~ I won't see your smile and I won't hear you laugh anymore, every night I won't see you walk through that door 'Cause time wasn't on your side, it isn't right I can't say I love you It's too late to tell you But I really need you to know Wherever you may be tonight I need you to be by my side 'Cause I never said goodbye It isn't right I should have said I love you Why didn't I just tell you? God knows I need you to know I'll never forget you I'll never let you out of my heart You will always be here with me I'll hold on to the memories baby Somewhere I know you'll be with me Someday in another time But right now you're gone You're just vanished away But I'll never leave you behind~ In loving memory of Jason Reeves
Jeremy scowled at the name at the end of the poem. He could hear the rain drumming against his window. 'So his name was Jason...' he thought. After all he'd read, he was sure that Hilary still loved that guy. It was no surprise to him that she didn't love her boyfriend, he'd already figured that out. Everytime she was with him, she looked like a barbie doll. Always smiling happily, but the smile never reached her eyes. Jeremy gulped. It was okay for him to have Scott as rival, but what exactly could he do if Hilary really still loved this Jason?....'Nothing' popped into his head. His thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell. He ignored it, hoping someone else would answer it. It rang again. "Could someone please open the door?" he yelled annoyed. "Jess?" He didn't get an answer. "Jess!" Still no answer. "Gigi!!" Dead silence, until the doorbell rang again. Jeremy groaned and closed the book. "Why do I actually have sisters when I have to do everything by myself anyway?" he mumbled while he headed downstairs. The doorbell rang again. "Yeah! I'm coming!" he yelled. "Am I a f*cking butler?" he asked himself before he opened the door with an annoyed expression on his face. It immediantely turned into surprise when he saw who stood outside...

Jeremy's jaw dropped as he saw Hilary standing in his doorway. She looked horrible. She was soaked, her clothes were dirty and her eyes reddened from crying. "Hilary? What happened? What are you-" He couldn't finish his question, because in this moment Hilary just fainted into his arms. While he lifted her up, he noticed that she smelled of alcohol. "Oh no", he sighed and laid her down on the couch in the living room. Hilary?" he whispered and touched her arm hesitant. She didn't move. "Jeremy!" He heard Jess voice yelling and then her footsteps as she came downstairs. Jeremy looked up. "You're here?" he asked surprised and she laughed. "Of course I am, what did you think?" "Well, you didn't answer when I yelled for you earlier, so-" "Oh, that. I just didn't want to answer the door, that's all", she said casually. Suddenly she recognized Hilary lying on the couch. "Oh my god! What happened to her?" she asked worried and kneeled down beside the couch. "I don't know, she just stood here in the doorway and then fainted." Jess leaned over to Hilary and turned her head to get a better view at her face but quickly backed up again, coughing. "Wow, she smells as if she drank a few bottles of vodka", she said and Jeremy looked at her. "You're not supposed to know that Jess" She smiled innocently. "Oh, well..." she looked down at her feets. "So what shall we do with her now?" she changed the subject and Jeremy shrugged. "I have no idea. It's late, I bet her parents already wonder where she is." "Okay, you call her parents and tell them she'll spend the night here and I'm gonna get her some other clothes...and she also could do with a bit of water I guess", she said, looking at Hilary's dirty face. "Okay...but wait, I can't call her parents, I mean I guess they won't be too happy about her daughter spending the night with a guy they don't even know, right?" Jess raised her eyebrows. "She won't spend the night WITH you, she'll just spend the night at your house...but you're right I'll call them. In the meantime, you carry her up to your room!" "Okay" Jeremy replied and did what Jess had told him. He laid Hilary on his bed and watched her resting there. Then he slowly began to stroke her hair. It felt soft and smelled good, even though it was still wet from the rain. His hand slid down over her face, caressed her cheek, feeling her smooth, warm skin. He ran his finger over her lips and smiled weakly. This was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen and now she was lying in is bed- unconscious. Suddenly a whimper escaped Hilary's lips. She started to move a little and then opened her eyes, looking at Jeremy. "Hey", he said softly. "Hey" she answered with a raspy voice and stared at him for a moment, then she closed her eyes and went back to sleep again. He sighed and kissed her forehead as suddenly Jess came into the room. "What are you doing?" she asked and he quickly stood up. "Nothing" he said. "Okay...well, I guess you should leave until she put on other clothes." "Oh, of course", Jeremy answered and left the room with one last look at Hilary, wondering what might have happened to her.

When Hilary woke up, she laid in a huge king size bed, her whole body hurt and she wondered where she was. Pretty confused she sat up in the bed and looked around. Just then she saw something she really didn't expect. Next to her in the bed laid Jeremy, sleeping peacefully. She stared at him stunned and then looked down on herself. She was wearing pyjama pants and a pink top. 'How did I get here?' she thought. 'What happened?' Hilary stood up and walked around in the room, considering what to do. She stopped in front of Jeremy's desk. There were loads of pictures standing on it. On most of them you could see Jeremy hugging girls or hanging out with his friends. "You're awake." Hilary turned around, surprised and couldn't help but smiled as she saw Jeremy sitting in his bed, rubbing his eyes. His hair was messy and and he looked sleepy. Hilary's smile driftet when she remembered her situation. "Jeremy, why am I here? What happened? Why did I wake up next to you, I mean...we didn't...you know..." Jeremy's eyes grew big. "What? No! No, we didn't! To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure what happened, you suddenly stood in my doorway and I couldn't even ask you why because you just fainted. You smelled as if you'd drunk alcohol." "At least that explains why my head hurts like hell", she said. "Can't you remember anything?" Jeremy asked and Hilary sat down next to him. "I went to the cemetery, but then...I don't know...wait! Anna!" she yelled and Jeremy looked at her confused. "Anna?" he asked. She ignored him and jumped up excited, trying to remember. "We had a fight...I wanted to drive home...I found these bottles in my car, I guess they belonged to Scott...I drank them..." "how many?" Jeremy asked even though he got this feeling that he didn't really want to know the answer. "Three", Hilary answered and blushed. "Three?" he gasped. "And then you drove all the way to my house?" She nodded. "I felt so bad and I suddenly remembered what you had said earlier and since I knew where Jess lived..." She stopped. Now she felt stupid for doing all these things. "Am I wearing her clothes?" she asked to change the subject. "Gigi's" Jeremy replied and she frowned. "Who?" "My other sister. You're clothes were full of dirt and you guys have the same size in clothes so..." "Oh", she said. "You really can't remember? I mean, you put them on by yourself, Jess woke you up, and later, when I laid you down on the bed, you opened your eyes for a moment, too." "I really can't", Hilary said. "God, this is so embarassing. I think I should go now", she said and Jeremy laughed. "It's pretty much in the middle of the night now. Jess already called your parents and told them you'd spend the night here", he answered. "What about your parents?" she asked. "They ain't home." She nodded slowly. "You can sleep in the guest room", Jeremy said and motioned her to follow him. She did and he lead her to the guest room. They stopped in front of the door and stared at each other on silence. "So..." she said and blushed. He smiled. "Goodnight Hil", he kissed her cheek and went into his room. "Goodnight Jeremy", Hilary whispered to herself and went to bed.

Two hours later, Jeremy woke up as he felt someone stroking his hair. He opened his eyes and it took a few seconds until his eyes got used to the dark in the room and he could see Hilary sitting next to him on the bed. "Hil? What are you doing here?" he asked yawning. "I can't sleep", she whispered. He got up and turned on the light. Hilary stared at him. He was only wearing boxers and she just couldn't avoid her eyes from what she was seeing. His body was tanned and muscular, not too much, just right, and the dusty light shimmered on his skin. He noticed that she was staring at him and laughed lightly. "What?" he asked and she looked away quickly. "Nothing", she stuttered and blushed. Jeremy just smiled at her, walked back to the bed and laid dwon on it, Hilary followed his example. For a few minues, they just laid there, next to each other, staring at the ceiling, not saying anything. "How come a girl like you has got a boyfriend like Scott?" Jeremy asked suddenly. She only turned her head and looked at him. He didn't face her but still looked at the ceiling and she sighed. "What can I say? I love him, he's a great guy!" Now he turned his head, so that they looked into each others eyes. 'Liar' Jeremy thought, but kept it to himself since he didn't want to fight about something she wouldn't admit to him anyway. Hilary laughed. "And how come a guy like you is single?" she asked and he smiled. "I've never said I am." Hilary frowned. "You mean you have a girlfriend?" He smiled subtly. "No I don't. You know, sometimes I think I'm better off being single." "You probably just haven't found the right person yet", Hilary said. "Sometimes this person is right in front of you and you don't even recognize it", Jeremy replied and stared into her eyes, trying to figure out what was going on inside this girl he barely knew. "Yeah, but sometimes you think you found the right person but it turns out that you were wrong", she whispered and broke their eye contact. Jeremy stared at her for a moment. "How come I feel as if I've known you for years even though I've just met you and don't really know anything about you?" he asked and Hilary shrugged. "I don't know", she said and Jeremy gazed at her face which was now turned to him again. "What?" she smiled at him. "Why are you staring at me?" "I'm just looking...you've been looking at me earlier and now I'm looking at you, where is the problem?" he asked and kept his eyes on her. She laughed. "There's no problem, I was just asking." Jeremy grinned. "And I'm just looking....you're beautiful", he said seriously and Hilary blushed. "Why are you telling me that?" she asked a little distrustful. "Do I need to have a reason for telling the truth?" he replied smiling and she got up. "Don't let yourself be fooled by looks Jeremy", Hilary whispered and stared in the mirror she was standing in front of now. She could see how he stood up and walked up to her. Looking at his reflection, she noticed that he was holding out is hand. She grabbed it and he turned her around. A shiver flew through her body as she felt his other hand sliding over her arm, but when she looked up at him, he had a serious expression on his face. "What happened to your arms?" he asked and she pulled away. "Nothing", she said, not looking at him. "Then why are they full of scratches and bruises?" he insisted, trying to catch her eye. Hilary looked at him for a moment and he knew that she wouldn't tell him the truth. He sighed. "It's okay, you don't have to tell me", he said and she smiled weakly. "I'm sorry Jer." He shook his head. "Don't worry, it's alright." Hilary yawned and he laughed. "We should go back to bed, it's late." Hilary blushed. "Jeremy?" "Yeah?" "Can I...would you mind if...you know...can I sleep here?" she asked. "I just don't want to be alone now" He nodded and sighed jokingly. "So I'll have to sleep on the floor" he said and she laughed. "Stop whining you baby. No seriously, the bed is big enough for both of us." He stared at her. "Are you sure?" Hilary smiled. "Absolutely. But keep your hands to yourself, or you'll get into loads of trouble mister!" she joked. Jeremy looked at her innocently. "I'll try", he said and laughed.
